School Dinners

All KS1 children may have a free school dinner.

Your child just needs to ask for 'school dinner' in the morning register, as normal.

You do not need to complete any paperwork, or do anything.

If you were entitled to free school meals under the old system, please still let us know, as this gains the school more funding to make your child's education even better.

Whitchurch Primary School promotes healthy eating.

Key Stage 1 pupils are provided with a mid-morning snack of fruit, free of charge, and fresh water is available. Children up to the age of five are also offered milk.

Key Stage 2 pupils are allowed to bring a fruit snack for their mid morning break.

Fresh water is available, but all children are encouraged to bring their own water bottle to school to use throughout the day.

Parents can select to order a school dinner. The menus are on a three week rota and are based on nutritionally balanced home cooked meals. They contain lots of fruit, vegetables and salads to help boost children's intake of essential vitamins and minerals. The levels of fat, salt and sugar are also reduced. Alternatively, you can provide your own nutritional cold packed lunch. The latest dinner menu and cost can be obtained from the school office.

Dinner money should be paid on ParentPay.

The cost of a school dinner is £2.60 per day. Please note school dinners are free to all children in KS1.

Children of Families with certain benefits maybe eligble for free meals. The Application form can be found in Reception during school hours.
